I don’t know anything about Canadian lifestyle, BUT as a shopper-

Advertise- use flyers, the internet, the newspaper, the phone book, etc- these are all low cost and very effective

Sales- offer some sort of coupons to bring people in, if your merchandise is good and your prices are reasonable then people will buy more than just what they came in for

Actual store environment- make the store look inviting, organized, not cramped, appealing to all ages
